CAVERLY AND OUWINGA AWARDED IAGER DAIRY SCHOLARSHIPS - July 2013

The National Dairy Shrine is pleased to name Leah Caverly and Jorin Ouwinga as recipients of the 2013 Iager Dairy Scholarship. This scholarship was created by an endowment from the Charles and Judy Iager family of Fulton, Md., these $1000 scholarships are awarded annually to second-year students enrolled in a two-year agricultural school and pursuing a career in the dairy industry. Recipients are selected based on leadership ability, academic achievement, interest in the dairy industry and future career plans.

Bethany Dado from Amery, WI, Mikayla Conrad from New Holland, OH and Shannon Rodeffer from Snohomish WA were all awarded the 2013 Maurice Core Scholarship through the National Dairy Shrine. The $1000 award is given in honor of Maurice Core, the long-time Executive Secretary of the American Jersey Cattle Association and Executive Director of the National Dairy Shrine. The scholarship is awarded to a freshman student working towards a degree in dairy or related fields with an emphasis on leadership and volunteerism.
