1. Assist the National Farm Medicine Center (NFMC) in broadening their understanding of the immigrant workers' challenges with regard to workplace injuries.
2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of an occupational health physician, a cultural anthropologist, a health policy expert, an epidemiologist and a community outreach specialist to work on multiple interrelated projects examining the different aspects of health and safety in dairy agriculture.
3. Conduct outreach to farmers and workers.
4. Evaluate worker trainings.
5. Develop resources for clinicians, therapists, farmers and farm workers to prevent and treat agricultural injuries and illnesses.


1. Must be a student in an accredited college or university and completed their sophomore year by June, 2014.
2. Enrolled in the following or related fields: public health, social work, Spanish, social sciences, ethnic and cultural studies, education, communication, anthropology, nursing, medicine, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, agribusiness, dairy science.
3. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
4. Good judgment and sense of responsibility.
