1. Build a database of news clippings primarily describing agricultural injury events or accidents. 2. Code content of articles in the database and obtain and code new articles. 3. Look for trends or clues in the articles and focus on a particular issue of their choosing. 4. Examine ways to more easily share articles in the database with media members and educators. Track requests for particular articles and learn what they are being used for. 5. Toward the end of the internship, the student will prepare an abstract describing the research and present orally at the Foundation's annual Research Symposium.
1. Must be a student in an accredited college or university and completed their sophomore year by June, 2014. 2. Enrolled in journalism, agricultural communications or agricultural education. 3. Should have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. 4. Good judgment and sense of responsibility.
