Internships at Cargill:

Dairy Marketing Internship:
The Dairy Marketing Communications Intern will have exposure to the team’s entire portfolio. The Dairy Marketing Communications Intern will participate in external and internal marketing communications projects and support the team’s ongoing efforts to engage customers and employees. Additional duties may include researching, writing and editing content for various digital and print mediums, supporting public relations and event planning efforts, and other duties as needed.

Principal Accountabilities:
Responsibilities during your internship can include:
50% Writing (researching, interviewing, etc.) & editing.
25% Exposure to business.
25% Other duties as assigned.

Internship Programming:

  • Cargill offers both housing assistance and relocation reimbursement to interns who qualify.
  • Internships are paid and are at least 12 weeks in duration.
  • Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
  • Attend Intern Forum, an event held at Cargill headquarters in Minneapolis, MN, designed to give exposure to leadership and cross-functional interns from across the U.S.
  • Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or full-time position for the following year.
  • As employees, interns receive access to Cargill volunteer and community outreach opportunities and paid time off to participate in volunteer activities.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited program in Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Business, Animal Sciences, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related degree graduating between Dec 2020-May 2022.
  • Must submit 3 writing samples with application; not limited to blog posts, articles or class papers that are written by you.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% during internship.
  • Passionate storyteller with a desire to learn and looking for an opportunity to share their talents with the dairy industry to help our business grow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the U.S.
  • Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June - August 2020).
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience in the beef and/or dairy industries.
  • Participation in 4-H, FFA, NAMA, ACT, AFA, Block and Bridle, Dairy Club, PRSSA, or similar organizations.
  • Experience with Adobe design applications, video production and photography.
  • Experience with HTML, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, content management systems, and/or social media management.
